A Short Take on Sony’s Current Camcorders
February 6th 2010
The Sony HDR-XR200V, produced early last year, is a 120GB, 1/5-inch 2.3-megapixel ClearVid CMOS sensor piece of kit that holds a 15x zoom lens with a couple of enhancements like GPS for geotagging and an optical stabilizer for better compensation for video taking while walking, abilities commonly found on its higher end siblings, the Sony HDR-XR500V and the Sony HDR-XR520V and finally, a more petite size.
Also produced in early 2009, the Sony HDR-XR500 series presents two hard disk based AVCHD pieces of kit, the Sony HDR-XR500V and the Sony HDR-XR520V. These two equipment come with radical features such as built-in GPS and the new|all-new|brand new|new-fangled|novel|cutting edge|avantgarde|breakthrough|progressive|radical|state of the art|unconventional} Exmor-R back-illuminated CMOS sensor. It also sports an upgraded SteadyShot image stabilization system and a solid feature set.
The Sony HDR-XR500V serves up a 120GB drive while the Sony HDR-XR520V showcases a 240GB drive. In spite that having a full set of features, these camcorders are primed with a comparatively expensive price tag. For the amount you would be forking out, one would expect to have alot more prosumer functions and not simply a full set of consumer attributes.
